Rare cobalt blue framed antique oval Venetian mirror

Delightful little decorative, antique, oval Venetian mirror with cobalt blue frame, cut into the reverse side with a floral and foliate design and secured at each quarter with a curved and cut glass piece. The mirror is topped with an etched, silvered cartouche with bunches of grapes down each side and has supporting curled feet. Although there is age in the external decoration, the frame and central bevelled glass are in excellent, original condition giving a clear reflection. We have photographed the mirror hanging on the wall but it also has a sliding wooden support at the back, plus the original wooden knob to hold the mirror at the right angle, so it can be stood on a table.
