Early 19th century French mirror with cream, white and grey partly rippled, partly basketweave, frame with hints of verdigris, set between two narrow, raised, gilt ropetwist bands. The original mercury glass has a little age but sparkles when it catches the light and gives a good reflection. This unusual mirror can be hung portrait (as photographed) or landscape and would have formed part of the panelling in an important French house.
