Early 19th century octagonal, cushioned, mercury glass, Venetian mirror with layered frame. The outer edge of the frame is simply decorated with elongated scallop cut edges and the inner edge is similarly decorated with small scallop cuts. These two sections of frame are linked across the plain, bevelled central section with narrow, waisted glass leaf pieces. Each join around the outer and inner frame sections has horizontal glass leaf-style pieces and all the joining pieces are secured with diamonte topped screws. The central glass has age in the form of foxing but there is minimal age around the frame.
