Mid 19th century, cushioned Venetian mirror with layered, bevelled glass frame decorated with scallop cut edges and secured at each join with glass leaves. A high, acanthus leaf cartouche decorates the top of the mirror and the central glass and mid sections of the frame are bevelled mercury glass which has a dusting of age but sparkles beautifully and gives a good reflection. There is also age in some of the joining pieces which is, unusually, a light rusty red. The photographs do not do this mirror any favours - it needs to be seen to be appreciated fully.
