Mid-19th century cushioned Venetian mirror with layered frame decorated on the outer section with small scallop cuts and on the inner frame section with alternating long and short scalloped edges. The central part of the frame is etched with a delicate design of bell flowers, leaves and curling tendrils - morning glories perhaps? Each piece is secured with glass leaf or flower-shaped corner pieces which are held in place with little glass flower-topped screws. There is a little age in the frame and joining pieces but the orginal, central, bevelled glass has just a hint of age and gives and excellent reflection. This mirror could make a matched pair with our other cushioned Venetian, stock number 5484 as this mirror, with cartouche removed, is the same size 103cm high by 82cm wide.
