Beautifully made, 1950s Italian mirror with gently tapering sides which incurve each side of the narrow, wooden base, curved upper corners and incurving top. Unusually, this mirror has a narrow clear glass band around the outside edge on three sides and is secured to the shaped wooden back by little brass coloured, acanthus leaf, metal clips which have traces of gilding remaining. There is just a hint of age in the mirror plate, which gives an excellent reflection. The quality of the workmanship in this mirror is superb and it is possibly by Fontana Arte.
