Late 19th/early 20th century rectangular Venetian mirror with narrow, bevelled frame decorated with etched flower and leaf design. All four corners of the mirror and midway down the two long sides are secured with glass leaves. There is medium age in the frame, which is entirely in keeping with a mirror of this period, but the central glass has just a little age and gives a good reflection. The near-square shape of this mirror would make an excellent overmantel and, because Venetian mirrors reflect their surroundings without imposing any colour on them, they work very well in many different settings.
