Early 19th century octagonal, cushioned, Venetian mirror with layered glass frame. The outer and inner bands of the frame are decorated with scallop cut edges but the central panel has some of the most exquisitely delicate decoration we have ever seen. Each piece is secured to the frame with cut and bevelled glass shaped pieces, each one of these held in place with little diamonte-topped screws. The central glass is bevelled. Every part of this mirror is original, mercury glass in superb condition and is a very rare find indeed.
