19th century Venetian mirror with scallop cut edged frame decorated with central design of diagonal ovals. Each piece of the frame is secured with a glass leaf and the mirror is topped with an elaborate and extravagant bow. A label on the back, in beautiful copperplate writing, states that the mirror was first hung in place on Tuesday 20 April 1893 and a second hand says it was re-hung in 1948. A stunning, original mirror with just a little age in the bottom right corner leaf.
