Small antique, octagonal, Venetian mirror, circa 1840, with mercury glass throughout and delicate, scallop cut edged frame decorated with central floral and foliate pattern. Each section of frame is held in place with a fleur de lys shaped glass piece which is secured with a little glass-topped screw and the mirror is topped with an acanthus leaf cartouche. There is small damage and age in the leaf to the right of centre of the cartouche but this does not detract from the attractiveness of this little mirror which can be hung on the wall or stood on a table. The rest of the mirror and the original, bevelled glass is in lovely condition, gives an excellent reflection and sparkles when it catches the light.
