Antique French Louis Philippe archtop mirror (1830-48) with pale gilt frame decorated with a geometric etched design and beaded sight edge. Through almost two centuries of dusting, the gilt on the central, outcurving section of the frame has thinned revealing cream and pale terracotta tones from the layers beneath the gold leaf giving this mirror a particularly attractive colour. The original, mercury glass has just a little age towards the base but sparkles and gives an excellent reflection.
