Early 19th century French panel mirror with narrow gilt reeded frame. Where the gilding has thinned over the last 200 plus years, the terracotta bole is just showing through a little, giving the mirror a warm patina. The original mercury glass has a few areas of age but sparkles beautifully and gives an excellent reflection. This very contemporary-looking mirror can be hung portrait (as photographed) or landscape.
