19th century gilt Italian mirror with outset corners. The frame has beautifully etched and burnished pairs of acanthus leaves at each corner with a curling punched design along the narrower sections. Due to many years of cleaning, the gilding has thinned revealing the terracotta bole beneath which gives the mirror frame a warm glow. The original glass has misty age and gives a soft reflection.
