Late 19th century French table top mirror with bamboo style, watergilt frame, crossing over at each corner and topped with a circlet of flowers and leaves with a small bow beneath. Through years of dusting, the gold leaf on the frame has thinned revealing the terracotta bole and cream gesso beneath. The original, bevelled glass has attractive, very light age which provides a delicate pattern across the glass and still gives a good reflection. The shaped wooden back contains a stand which is held in place by a wooden screw but this mirror can also be wall hung from the later fixtures.
