1840s French mirror with narrow, watergilt, undulating frame. Where this mirror has been cleaned for almost 200 years, the gold leaf has thinned revealing the terracotta bole and cream gesso beneath. Although there is a little age in the original, mercury glass, the whole piece sparkles when it catches the light and makes this mirror particularly beautiful. The reflection is good and the mirror can be hung portrait (as photographed) or landscape.
