Tall, narrow, rectangular antique French panel mirror with gilt reeded frame, circa 1830. Where the frame has been dusted for almost 200 years, the gilding has thinned a little to reveal the terracotta bole beneath the gold leaf, giving the frame a warm glow. The original, mercury glass is in very good condition with just a little light age, gives an excellent reflection and sparkles beautifully along the base. This mirror would have formed part of the wooden panelling in an important French house.
