Magnificent, mid-19th century Italian mirror with outset corners. The wide, burnished gilt frame has a mixture of etched and punched designs of scrolling leaves at each corner and, after nearly two centuries of dusting, the gold leaf has thinned a little allowing the terracotta bole to show through giving the mirror a lovely warm patina. The original mercury glass has just a little age but sparkles and gives a very good reflection.
