19th century French rectangular mirror with wide frame decorated on the outer edge with a raised twisted border and on the inner edge with a raised rippled border. The gently, curved watergilt section between is etched with a floral and foliate design finished with an etched ribbon in the centre of the frame at the base. The original gilding has a little thinning in places showing the pale terracotta and cream gesso beneath the gold leaf, but the overall colour of the mirror is a gentle gold. The original glass is in excellent condition and gives a very good reflection.
