Beautifully carved and gilded French Regence period (1715-1723) margin mirror with high "fronton" - the decorative top. The narrow frames are decorated with a raised acanthus leaf design and delicate open acanthus leaf carvings cover each corner. The separate top or "fronton" has climbing scrolls and curves of acanthus leaves. All the original mercury glass in the rectangular part of the mirror is bevelled and has some age but the mirror still gives a good reflection.
