Lovely, late 19th French margin mirror with narrow gilt frames, the outer frame decorated with an acanthus leaf design and the inner frame has a reeded design. The mirror has a curvy appearance from the re-entrant upper corners which have scaled mythical beasts facing outwards, their tails finishing in acanthus leaves which come across the glass linking the outer and inner frames. Delicate acanthus leaves also decorate the lower corners and there is an upper and lower shell cartouche with more acanthus leaves and, on the upper cartouche, floral and foliate decoration. All the glass is bevelled and this mirror is in excellent, original condition.
