Mid 19th century French margin mirror with palm leaf outer frame and beaded inner frame. At each corner a shell flanked with curling acanthus leaves provides a delicate decoration. The mirror is topped with an open cartouche of rising palm leaves with a central, high circlet of leaves and flowers. The original mercury glass has just a little age, mostly in the outer sections of the frame and the central glass is bevelled and gives an excellent reflection as well as sparkling in the light. This mirror came from Manoir de Kermarquer, Cotes d'Amour, Brittany, France.
