Made during the reign of the last King of France (Louis XVI 1774-92) this elegant console table has a giltwood base with four, reeded, tapering legs decorated at the top with a sunflower rosette set within a square. The carrera marble top is original to the table and has shaped, bevelled edges. Understandably, for a piece of this age, there are a few small marks and chips to the base and to the marble top but no cracks or breaks. This table has a lovely, understated, elegance and came from Manoir de Kermarquer, Cotes d'Amour, Brittany, France.
