Very unusual mid-19th century French mirror with rippled, original, silverleafed frame. Where the silverleaf has thinned through years of dusting, the red bole and cream gesso beneath are slowing through, giving warmth to the silver. The original glass is in very good condition with just a little age and gives an excellent reflection. This mirror can be hung portrait, as photographed, or landscape.
