Early 19th century French mirror with wide, gilt, reeded frame with the red bole (layer beneath the gold leaf) showing through in places, where the mirror has been more heavily cleaned over the years. The original, mercury glass is in very good condition with just a little light age and sparkles when it catches the light. This handsome mirror can be hung portrait (as photographed) or landscape and will work just as well in a very modern setting as in a traditional one.
