Dimensions:
Very large antique French margin mirror, circa 1880, with four curves along the top and incurving corners at the base. The outer frame is decorated with horizontal lozenges set between acanthus leaves and the inner frame has small vertical lozenges encircled by ribbons. Floral swags hang in four loops from little ribbon bows across the central glass and acanthus leaves decorate the lower corners. The mirror is topped with a magnificent, high floral and foliate cartouche with a large, pierced acanthus leaf at the centre. Every section of the mirror has original, bevelled glass with a little age, mainly in the outer sections towards the top but gives an excellent, clear reflection. This mirror was purchased from an important house in Rouen.
