Large, late 19th century, rectangular French mirror with outcurving, burnished, watergilt frame. Where the gold leaf has thinned through years of cleaning, the rich terracotta bole is showing through, giving the mirror frame a warm colour. The outside edges of the mirror are also gilded. The original glass has just a little light age and this very handsome, classic mirror can be hung portrait (as photographed) or landscape.
