19th century French mirror, circa 1880, with narrow watergilt frame. The four re-entrant corners are each decorated with a curled acanthus leaf and small spray of flowers and leaves along the upright sections of the frame. A row of delicate beading runs around the sight edge of the frame which is topped with a wide, floral and foliate cartouche decorated with swags across the glass. The original mirror plate is bevelled and in excellent condition with just a hint of age. This elegant mirror would make a stunning overmantel as well as a perfect entrance hall mirror.
