Gilt Italian Mirror with Outset Corners

Classic late 19th century Italian mirror with outset corners and burnished gilt frame decorated with punched and etched design of curling stems and leaves set within geometric borders. Where the mirror has been cleaned for over 100 years, the gold leaf has thinned revealing the terracotta and cream layers beneath. There is some age in the original glass but it still gives a good reflection.
