Huge antique gilt ropetwist framed French mirror

Huge, early 20th century gilt ropetwist framed French mirror which had hung on the wall of a Bistro in Montmatre, Paris, until it closed in 2021.  Through more than 100 years of cleaning, the original gilding has thinned revealing the cream gesso and terracotta bole beneath. The original glass has some light streaking but still gives a good reflection and this spectacular mirror can be hung portrait (as photographed) or landscape (as it had hung in the Bistro).
