Antique portrait French mirror with hat

Late 19th century French mirror with curved top set between squared upper corners and outcurving watergilt frame which, where the original gilding has thinned, is an attractive chocolate brown. The gilding is carried around the outside edges and the mirror is topped with a very, decorative cartouche suggesting a Summer's day in the countryside with a central straw hat surrounded by oak leaves, a boat oar, musical instruments and parasol. The original glass has a wide bevel and a little age in the form of freckles, but still gives an excellent reflection.
