Wavy framed antique mirror with crest

Attractive 19th century French mirror, circa 1880, with burnished gilt undulating, or wavy, frame and decorative floral and foliate crest with central fanned leaf design. Where the mirror frame has been dusted for over 100 years, the gilding has thinned a little revealing the chestnut brown bole beneath and the horizontal gold lines where the sheets of gold leaf slightly overlap. The gilding continues around the outside edges. The original glass is in good condition with just a few age freckles but gives an excellent reflection.
